Viswanathan's experience is living proof. Well, that and the recent Judith Regan/O.J. Simpson fiasco proves that adage is false.Linda C. And so the agent/editor is disappointed when he/she reads it and it sounds an awful lot like chick lit. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34218279.post-1161657619914305622006-10-23T22:40:00.000-04:002006-10-23T22:40:00.000-04:00I am definitely finding the posts valuable. It's tempting to want to hop on the bandwagon when you see the hottest new whatever-lit author making the talk show rounds. The thing is, trying to write a book that will fit into today's trend is like being a day late to the prom. I work well with the idea of writing the kind of books I would love to read.Nicolehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03882889048711405333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-34218279.post-1160590154165824772006-10-11T14:09:00.000-04:002006-10-11T14:09:00.000-04:00Chick Lit is dead? Spin and market can make any book into any genre--particularly for well-established authors who have the audacity to stray into new areas. I'm always surprised at the number of horror and paranormals that are being passed off as mainstream. I'll be interested to see how chick lit's re-assimilation goes.Richelle Meadhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08987219680631887364noreply@blogger.com
